Auction Terms:
Bid- the amount of money you are willing to pay for a specific item.
Sold! - Contratulations, you bought it!
Buyers Premium- an additional % added to your gross sale.
Sales Tax - Virginia Sales tax is 5%.
Box Lots: A box of assorted items sold together.
Absentee Bid: A bid for a particular item placed with the auctioneer in the absence of a bidder.
Reserve: The minimum bid
determined by the seller.
Check Fee: There will be a $50 fee for any check returned due to non-sufficient funds.
Getting Started
- Arrive early so you can view the items being sold.
- To receive a bid number a valid drivers license is required. One bidder per number please.
- Please inform the cashier if you are tax exempt. as you may need to fill out an exempt form.
- The auctioneer will make any important announcements before the auction starts. If you have any questions, please ask.
- Items are sold "as is, where is". Be sure you have inspected the items before you bid. The auction team may note any defects that are known to him/her, however, it is the bidders responsibility to inspect the item. Once you hear "SOLD" it is yours.
- The bid card is a great tool for keeping track of the items you have purchased.
- You must pay for your items before you can leave with them. If you are purchasing numerous items you may want to pay periodically throughout the day. This will save you time when you check out.
